A father-and-son outdoor footwear development firm
Double i Works is me, a footwear developer with more than forty years of experience, and my son, who makes sure the product sells. Two people named Iiley, one standard.
Where we came from
Double i Works started where a lot of good footwear starts: in a garage outside Portland, Oregon. I'd spent decades learning how a shoe is really made, developing footwear at Nike, adidas, Under Armour, and Huk. In 2019 I started building for brands directly.
Today we work from the Tennessee countryside, about an hour from Nashville. Same hands-on approach, a quieter place to do the work, and a network of factories in the United States and Asia.
What we believe
Footwear rewards the brands that get the fundamentals right: the last, the factory, the calendar, and the cost. We'd rather take on fewer programs and stay hands-on in every one than build a big team and hand clients to it.

I've been a footwear developer since 1984: fourteen years in development at Nike, Director of Development for footwear at adidas, eleven years in development, sourcing, and outdoor footwear at Under Armour, then VP of Footwear at Huk. I founded Double i Works in 2019 and lead development on every program.
